Rashmi Bismark MPH MD

VISHUDDHA COMMUNITY LEADER
MINDFULNESS, COMMUNITY, PUBLIC HEALTH

Creating what medicine never gave female physicians, a place to flourish.

Rashmi came to mindfulness the way most physicians come to what matters most, through a gap she couldn't ignore. Board-certified in Preventive Medicine and Public Health, she spent more than two decades studying what conventional medicine rarely teaches: how to be present, how to pay attention, and how to help others do the same. Her training spans Yogic, Buddhist, and modern contemplative traditions, woven together with the neuroscience of why mindfulness works and the clinical evidence for what it changes.

he is a teacher trainer at Yoga Medicine, co-leading advanced modules on Yin Yoga and Meditation for yoga teachers worldwide. Her award-winning children's picture book Finding Om, endorsed by Tara Brach, introduced mantra and mindfulness to families across the globe. She brings to Vishuddha a rare fluency across both the science of prevention and the living wisdom of South Asian healing traditions.
Board certified in Preventive Medicine & Public Health · Yoga Medicine teacher trainer · Author, Finding Om · Mindfulness teacher training, University of Massachusetts
WHAT TO EXPECT

What to expect in her classes

Rashmi teaches presence as something that can be practiced not a state to achieve but a skill to develop, session by session. Her classes move between the science of why mindfulness works and the direct experience of doing it, drawing from yoga philosophy, Buddhist teachings, and the neuroscience of attention. You will leave with practices you can actually use — in a clinic, in a waiting room, in the ten minutes between patients.

Designed for clinicians and practitioners. No prior meditation experience required.

About

Rashmi is physician who has traveled the world in search of the wholeness she now teaches.

Dr. Rashmi Bismark is a board-certified Preventive Medicine physician with a Master of Public Health, whose path to integrative healing began when she spent her senior year studying Ayurveda, meditation, and yoga in southern India. Trained by her granduncle, a revered Ayurvedic healer, she learned medicine not only as treatment, but as the co-creation of healthy communities.

Her practice spans continents: from clinical research at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, to mindfulness facilitation in the Channel Islands, to co-leading Yin Yoga teacher trainings with Yoga Medicine. She draws from Buddhist, Yogic, and modern mindfulness traditions — and is certified through a two-year meditation teacher training with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield.

A celebrated children's author (Finding OM), she brings her love of storytelling into every teaching space she holds.
